Let us Celebrate, “Fathers Day”.

I had the privilege to pass out tracts at the San Francisco, California  Airport. A man sittng in the baggage return accepted one and suggested I give one to his kids. Shortly, desending from an escalator came two young adults. They walked over to greet this gentleman. However, I offered the tracts first and they accepted. I looked back in time to catch the smile on his face.

My imagination went wild. What was the message he had to share? What is happening in America? Who is in charge at home? Does dad get the respect that he deserves? Where is his wife? Does his wife  leadership. Is he being dragged down before his Kids? Is his home a prison? Does he  peaceable home? Who is in charge in his family?  Does he still have a family?  I had all these thoughts.

This Fathers Day it would do well to review the responsible of mothers to their husbands and children to their fathers. And fathers can take note that respect is not always deserved where it is not earned.

The term abuse has been attached to the fathers of this generation. Imaginations have gone wild. Its time to bring the mind under the authority of the father’s heart. The battle in the western world has been warming for sometime, now. The  movie industry has cashed in making by making dad a vilian.

Its time to bring back the voice and the presence of the father. When Gods people choose to humble themselves and seek His face and pray, He promises first to hear, than to forgive and to heal their land.

A picture of celebration is young men working with their dads. Another picture is sitting at meals together with dad at the head of the table. Another picture is honoring dads returning from work to the home. A big picture is holding on to dad leaving the House of Prayer. We all have dads or have had a father . Lets celebrate Fathers Day. To those who bare wounds from past hurts I pray that a spirit of forgiveness will remind you life is too short to hold on to them. Let them go and lets celebrate our dads who bought us into the world and or Father God who is preparing a better place for us. Happy Fathers Day to all the dads. Celebrate with me.

Dont forget the hurting people.

Saturday after attending morning Mens prayer group I stopped by the local Bagel shop to meet with some of the men. After a talk with one brother I prepared to leave. I had eaten a bagel and needed to discard the dish. As I approached a counter to separate what I had on the dish a napkin was on the floor. I reached down picked it up to throw it away. The trash was not in sight. A lady noticed what I had done so offered to assist me. I thought it was a kind gesture of her and said, “Thanks, I can do it.” I looked up at her and thought she must be a believer to have offered  help. I was trying to get adjusted. ( I must have had things in both hands as I reflect back or a lot on my mind.) However, I responded with,  “You must be a believer for offering  to help me. She frowned and said, ” I have had this burden on my mind and I just knew I needed to come here today.” Than I asked, “Can I pray with you?” She agreed and I asked if she would sit with me briefly at a table. Again she agreed and we went over and sat down. Than I shared about a musical event that evening before praying. She told me she had just lost her mother and was concerned about her Dad. She said that event may be what she needed  for him to encourage him. I described to her that the music was Southern Gospel, and Quartet style and many Seniors attended this monthly function.. She again thanked me and she was on her way.

We live in times that demand so much from us. The paton has been passed to us from the generation that moved us out of the industrial revolution. We have this information age. With many gadgets to communicate it sometimes appear we impart little. It is so important that we dont let the gadgets replace our humanity.

I have visited and worshiped in some churches where the music and the singers have replaced true worship. It has become a Hollow Sound. I have seen masses of people excited of what they are doing in the house and there is pain and sadness in their eyes. I have seen the minister ask for accolades of AMEN. I remember where the Lord told his disciples not to rejoyce that the devils weresubject to them. But to rejoyce that their names were written in Heaven. God forbid if we should miss the hour of his visitation. He spoke of a day when He would gather all the nations and separate them  on sides. Then pass out rewards. To those on the right. He would say, Come in thou good and faithful servant. For I was hungry and you feed me or in prison and you visited me. And they would answer Lord when did we do this? And He would respond for as much you did it to one of these you have done it unto me.

Let me encourage you that believe. In the public square are many hurting people. It can be your pulpit for ministry. Lift up you eyes and listen. Reach outside the norm. He is waiting and watching. Why not you make every man or woman your sister or brother. We all were born to a family. May God Bless You.

Spring is in the air.

As with spring, the Book of Genesis in the holy Bible or the Torah is the beganning of the story of creation and man. In its pages are the history of a people being directed to present The Sovergn God to the solutions of all interactions of His creation. We’re told this history because we were not there (However we were in the mind of his  pleasure). Rev. 4:11. As one studies this spring of creation and mankind a cast is set that gives the reader a basis knowledge of the challenges we may face. It is imperiative for believers to become aquaintive with their history. History reveals the habits of the created and can be a map to limitations or expectation of mankind. Considering our likeness to the Creator, we have been given the task to bring focus of the creation back to the Creator (Our Sovergn God). So the Book of Genesis presents the path and and places us on the path. The question remaining is, “What are we going to Do?” As with springtime, we look at the new growth in the earth. We watch and feel the climate changing and experience the  freshness of the atmosphere and make decision in our lives to compliment the season. Let me encourage you to meet new neighbors and broaden your circle of influence for the Lord will come. And when He comes he will look for a people who have made themselves ready for his appearing.

Springtime is about new beginnings and expectation. As believers we are looking for a new beginning with the creator of all the earth. If so we must remember the words of him who was in the beginning. Jesus said, the Son of man shall come in the glory of his father  with his angels and than he shall reward everyman according to his works.” (Matt. 16:27)  Oh! What a day that will be.
