Year of the Open Door

As we roll along towards a welcomed Spring season after a harsh winter with record breaking events, I visited a plant nursery the other day and picked out eight four inch pots of tomato plants with the assistance of an attendant. I have always enjoyed eating a good helping of fried juicy green tomatoes. However it is not an item to find on the modern menu. So I decided that I would put my hand to growing a batch of my own in my back yard this year. I tested my yard and thumb with two plants last year. It was a beginning after so long since actually gardening for a crop.

The attendant suggested I plant several varieties because they mature at different times through the summer. That I did not know. This could spread out my enjoyment.  Also it was suggested what size and kind would give me a notable yield. So joyfully, I carted my selection of plants to the cashier and carefully placed them in the car and drove on home to began my season of.gardening.

The night before our part of the country had suffered through a late freeze and I noticed the warning had come almost to late for those who tried to overlook the obvious.

Would you know that Monday was a season to began another kind of planting.Tuesday was the first of four Blood Moons we should see in our skies over the next eighteen months. I was awakened with the thought to witness to those hardened unbelievers during this season. “What if some do not believe?” the Bible asked in Isaiah fifty three and one. How would they explain the Blood Moons written four thousand years ago. And again in the book of Acts of The Apostles chapter two and verses nineteen through twenty one, it is quoted by the apostle Peter over one thousand years later.

Why not engage in some end time constructive conversation to see where your working companions and your neighbors stand in this supposed to be Christian nation. Some of their answers will probably surprise you. However, the subject is a good way to sharpen your wits about the reality of the times that we live and our need to reach out and touch somebody’s life with our witness for Christ. It is the wisdom of the Prophet Daniel who left us with the verses in Scripture that relate to a glorious completing age when he wrote, “And those that will be wise will shine as the brightness of the firmament and those that bring many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.” (Dan.12:3)

what joy we would bring to the Father’s heart and the Holy angels that to see the body of Christ on earth planting seeds of the Word in fallow ground foe a great harvest of the Holy Spirit during this season.  RESURRECTION DAY just past but the fields are ripe for HARVEST. My hope and prayer is for each day I will plant in the heart of workers, neighbors and travelers everywhere I am words that will turn them to the will of “Our Father.” And that there be a multitude of new life rushing to the promises of the New Birth and to dine with our Lord as he knocks on the doors of new and old hearts.

Sincerety Is Not Enough

Carbon dioxide instead of oxygen was administered to a patient in a hospital in the state of New York, and death resulted almost instantly.
The tragedy occurred while the patient was being prepared for a minor operation. A trained anesthetist was administering a controlled mixture of  oxygen and an aesthetic gas when the tank of oxygen became exhausted, and a new tank labeled “oxygen” was substituted.
Almost immediately according to the police report, the patient died. The attending surgeon and the hospital officials suspected some kind of an accident and called the coroner.
An autopsy revealed carbon dioxide poisoning. Upon examination the “Oxygen” tank was found to contain carbon dioxide. The tank had been mislabeled before it reached the hospital. All is being done that can be done to discover how such a serious mistake happened.
The manufacture was serious, the hospital authorities were sincere, the anesthetic was sincere, the surgeon was sincere, and certainly the patient was sincere. No one wanted the tragedy to happen. All were sincerely mistaken about the “Oxygen.
The incident demonstrates that sincerity is not enough. certainty must be coupled with sincerity. There is a scripture that says, “There is a way that seems right unto a man, but the end thereof is death.” Proverbs 14:12
Too many people are saying “As long as I am sincere, I’ll come out all right in the end.”–but they are seriously mistaken. One must be certain regarding eternal verities, as well as in matters pertaining to health.
To many things are mislabeled “Salvation,” “Forgiveness,” “Life,” “Peace,” “Security,” and “Satisfaction.” How can one be certain in such all-important matters? By taking the Lord at His spoken word. No one is greater than He is. No one is truer than He is.
He said: I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.” (John 14:6)
There is every reason to believe Hi, for He loved us to the point of dying for our sins on the cross of Calvary. He now lives in the power of an endless life and saves all who come unto God by Him.
All who make Him their Lord and Saviour can say with the Apostle Peter, “We believe and are sure…” (John 6:69) Peter also said: “Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)    Tom M. Olson

I am sharing this simple tract as a reminder that things do not always work out as we expect them to work out. There are times that I stop and take inventory of my actions, motives and health. It would be a terrible mistake to make to not remember that I am not my own person. We can see the evidence of this in some of the diseases of our time. I was born in a time appointed and will leave at an appointed time. Neither was my design of my own choice. Therefore, it would do well to learn something about the journey and the choices made as we travel  here.

We will sincerely be accountable for our time here. All those who have gone before us have had as much in common. Without a designer how could there be any order or inteligince? How could there be any synchronization  of time or rotation of the planets? Where did my memory come from or my sences to communicate? I choose to believe and to seek a designer. Sincerity is not enough. That gives me a reason to pray. I will ask you as a fellow traveler. Will you pray with me?
